JCHS PIONEER DAY 2009!

Yes, we moved the event this year from the traditional first Sunday in October but we will still have a great day of fun and interesting activities.

THEME: 2009 Pioneer Day will honor Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday and his greatest challenge the American Civil War.

Besides our friends the Cowboy Mounted Shooters Asssociation and our long-time Pioneer Day exhibitors, highlights include -

-- Civil War Re-enactors drilling and skirmishing
-- “President Lincoln” reciting his Gettysburg Address
-- Programs by county Amercican Legion Posts
-- Special Displays of Civil War artifacts
-- Jackson County’s history in the Civil War era, including Grant’s visits here and
   also our Civil War veterans, etc.
-- Civil War Trivia contest
-- Games and activities for children
